Who is WeShape?
WeShape is an award winning technology consultancy established in 2019. The company specialises in the advisory and implementation of DevOps, Software Engineering, Data and Cloud Native solutions within the UK and Eastern Europe. By leveraging a network of software developers across the UK and Europe, WeShape delivers digital transformation projects, utilising a unique delivery model. In a market dominated by large technology consultancies, WeShape can provide a tailored solution with top tier support – making it a leading example in the competitive software engineering consultancy landscape.
What marketing challenges did WeShape face?
WeShape’s marketing team consisted of a content lead, an events lead, and a marketing manager. Although this structure can deliver strong results, in the field of software engineering consultancy marketing, developing a long-term marketing strategy with limited resources posed a challenge.
The marketing manager was tasked with building a digital marketing strategy for the following 3 years, but required guidance and support from senior marketing strategists. The marketing team was having difficulties reaching their target audience through SEO and content marketing, and their digital channels were not generating sufficient leads or measurable results.
Our strategic marketing solution
We began by conducting a marketing kick-off session,- a standard step for all TMA clients. This is a deep dive into the business objectives, pain points, high potential areas, logistics, and marketing implementation. The outcome of this session gave a clear understanding of how marketing and sales can work harmoniously in alignment with the businesses wider objectives of increased sales, happy clients, and improved brand awareness. We also specifically addressed the nuances and technical oversight required for successful software engineering consultancy marketing.
Next, we conducted an in-depth competitor analysis of WeShape’s top ten competitors. This included a deep-dive into their social media, websites, services, financials, advertisements, content, SEO, and more. From this research, we identified key takeaways about each competitor. This review also pointed out where WeShape was ahead of competitors, that what we could use as unique selling points, and where improvements were needed.
Combining insights from both analyses, we developed a strategic and fractional marketing plan in collaboration with WeShape’s marketing manager. This marketing plan outlined key initiatives, including migration of their SEO to a new strategic partner, the introduction of google ads, website review, a full re-haul of their lead generation and nurture strategy, and how to better maximise the exposure from their various events. A full budget was created by the marketing manager with the support of TMA to successfully carry out the marketing plan over the next 12 months
This strategic marketing plan and budget was presented to the board of directors, and fully approved. Following the approval of this plan, we provided ongoing fractional marketing strategy assistance to the marketing manager and board of directors throughout the 12 months. During this strategic consultancy period we onboarded our partner SEO agency PinkSeo Ltd, implemented the PPC strategy, conducted the website review, and overhauled the lead generation process. We also offered continuous consultation to help the marketing team adapt the plan as needed.
The results from our marketing strategy
We delivered a robust, department-wide 3 year marketing strategy developed collaboratively by their marketing manager, TMA, and the senior leadership team. The board approved both the strategy and its integrated budget.
After launching the marketing strategy WeShape achieved a significant uplift in lead generation across the various digital marketing channels including, SEO, website traffic, events, and more. The Conversion rate improved as well, leading to substantial marketing ROI on the budget for the client over the 12 month period.
